i see a lot of opinions on his use of his ability and on what he should have focused on. this is my take on this.
1) he isn't that smart(at least what his stats indicates him to be). dumping point into any stats should be done after much consideration(his life is on the line here). even tho he did weight off his options, he didn't really go over all the possibilities or at least hasn't tried to.
2) we don't know what effect each stat has specifically. someone said that he should be spending more points into luck as this effect the world around him. i'm like yes and no. any stat impact is different from game to game. in one game int is OP and in another one luck can be the route to go. "if you increase your luck you can win a lottery". not necessarily, how much luck does any point give you? if you have to drop 50 points just to double your luck isn't much of an increase. twice as much chance of winning the lottery is still a very low chance.
3) he stated himself that all rounder is a bad approach. "they are usually good in the beginning but bad in the end." not necessarily, it greatly depends on the game and your play style. there are people that are very successful spending their points in the worst stat in game. it's not the stat that is important it's how you use it and how close it is to your personality. if your have a magic affinity, go for magic. if you have speed go for the speed route and build skills around that instead of putting points into strength.
4) his deduction is half assed. he should have gone over all the possibilities first before doing anything. as of yet he doesn't know what every impact of a stat is. he doesn't know how much skills he can have or can remove unwanted ones. also he doesn't know if there is any respec option for his stats. putting everything in int paid off, but could have gone bad.
5) why the hell hasn't he learned any elemental spells. like fireballs or throwing rocks or whatever????
6) he created a skill resistance against physical attacks by being hit all the time so WHY DEFUCK DIDN'T HE ASK SOMEONE TO HIT HIM WITH ALL BUNCH OF ELEMENTAL ATTACKS IN ORDER TO GAIN RESISTANCE TO THESE ATTACKS. 30% fire resistance isn't good enough for him? 50% magic resistance isn't good enough? also why hasn't he gone over the possibility that there might be more than one type of magic abilities?? someone might be impervious to his type of magic.
7) no crafting? i would train that shit from day one in order to create potions to sell and use myself to increase health, mane or buff other stats.
8) why hasn't gone over the possibility of hidden stats that needs a requirement to be seen?
9) why hasn't he tried if it's possible to create a barrier within a barrier? if the speed up time barrier increases the time relative to the outside then if he creates another one within it then he could speed it up even further(if possible to do that, but he hasn't tried it yet).
10) where is character equipment screen?? no robes as mage or armour to boost stats???
11) no area off effect skills?? no support skills other than healing?? dude AoE that increases defence or attack for his elementals or allies ins't good enough?
12) why only one type of elemental??
13) he has a lot to learn and he is already level 30 range, but he has not the skills yet of a level 30 range. levelling too quickly is a problem as well.
14) hasn't tried to increase the number of points that can be gained each level.
15) no clones or cloak or any other skills that can be useful for running from enemies.
i could probably go on with more time to think about it, but what are your takes on this?
note: i like this series, i wouldn't have read it to the last chapter if i didn't like it, but that doesn't mean i don't have some problems with it.
